The original 1981 building was design as a passive solar facility and enjoyed very low energy costs. Bringing in more natural light and creating views
to the outside for reader enjoyment were just some of the design achievements. Other features of the library include noise reduction, improved lighting, and an inviting atmosphere for reading and exploring.
