The size, location, and purpose of this facility was originally suggested in a Campus Master Plan completed by KRM. The acoustics and physical attributes of this facility allow it to accommodate a variety of performances including theatrical plays, orchestra performances, operettas, speakers, and school convocations. The building contains a main floor with a seating capacity of 1,700, a balcony of 550, an orchestra pit, a full working stage, dressing areas, storage, and a large public lobby. The chandelier in the lobby is a sculptural focal point designed to illuminate the area and creates an open, expansive feeling. The acoustical characteristics of the space were carefully considered in all parts of the design. The designed reverberation time is 1.9 seconds.
