KRM studied the existing student housing facilities on campus in order to identify improvements that would comply with life safety standards and enhance their overall quality. The study process began by meeting with University to understand their unique vision for campus housing. Next, KRM evaluated the existing conditions of six residence halls and three apartment complexes across several dimensions such as building codes, common areas, corridors, restrooms, room environment, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical, and exterior items. Conceptual design plans and recommendations were developed for each of the buildings.
In the end, the University had a detailed book which compiled all of the developed information and expressed the data through spreadsheets, floor plans, exterior sketches, and written descriptions.
